Walshs Pyramid is a proper FNQ icon, standing at 922 metres, it’s one of the tallest free-standing natural pyramids in the world and the climb is a serious workout and steep in parts.

Most hikers start early to avoid the heat and aim for the summit in 3–5 hours return, depending on fitness. Once you reach the top, the views over the Goldsborough Valley and surrounding mountains are absolutely breathtaking.

If you aren't feeling up to the challenge of the hike itself but still want to enjoy the pyramid in all its glory (like us) drive to this exact location we have pinned on the map to enjoy the epic views from the base!
