If you’re chasing the real outback meets ocean experience, Quobba Station is the spot. About 70km north of Carnarvon, this rugged stretch of WA coastline is all red cliffs, crashing swell, and wild, remote beauty. It’s a working sheep station, but they’ve opened up a bunch of beachside campsites perfect for rolling up in the van and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. A campsite for the night will set you back around $22pp for unpowered or $27pp for powered, with facilities including camp kitchen, bbqs, showers, toilets & a laundry.
The coastline here is raw and dramatic, with epic fishing, snorkelling, and some solid surf if you’re game (and know what you're doing). The blowholes are a wild sight, especially on a windy day and the nearby sign that reads “King Waves Kill” isn’t mucking around. You’ll want to keep well back from the edge, but the views are unreal. No phone signal, no shops, and no fuss, just good old off-grid camping, starry skies, and proper WA isolation.
