Eight Mile Creek Campground is a free beachfront campsite about 10 minutes south of Port MacDonnell in South Australia. It’s right on the coast, offering easy access to swimming, surfing, fishing, and beach walks. Facilities are pretty basic with toilets and picnic tables, but it’s got plenty of space for vans, campers, and tents. Must be self contained & a permit is required to book a spot online.

It’s also super close to Ewens Ponds, just a few minutes’ drive away, where you can snorkel or dive in some of the clearest freshwater in the country. Pets are allowed, and stays are generally limited to five nights. It's a perfect free camp for travellers chasing a quiet coastal stop with minimal fuss and maximum vibes.
