It is very conveniently located for getting from one part of the island to another (if you have a car). Parking is easily found and the location is ideal for families, a lively and bustling place.

🇮🇹 L'Hostal Doris è la casa perfetta lontano da casa, il che dice tutto. Con un'atmosfera familiare e un servizio personalizzato da parte dei proprietari, ci siamo trovati benissimo. Si trova in una posizione molto comoda per spostarsi da una parte all'altra dell'isola (se si ha la macchina). Si trova facilmente parcheggio e la località è ideale per famiglie, un posto vivace ed animato.

You can walk to Playa del mago, Cala Tomeu and the Cova de Portals Vells. Although this stretch of coastline is full of beautiful coves, unfortunately the large buildings built in the 60s/70s near the sea spoil it all. Don’t you think?

🇮🇹 L'acqua cristallina e pulitissima è una garanzia a Platgeta de Portals Vells. Il piccolo parcheggio a ridosso è gratuito ma bisogna venire presto. Innamorato. Puoi raggiungere a piedi Playa del mago, Cala Tomeu e la Cova de Portals Vells. Anche se questo tratto di litorale è pieno di calette meravigliose, sono purtroppo i grandi edifici a ridosso del mare, costruiti negli anni 60/70, rovinano un po’ il tutto. Non credi?

It is a hidden beach of Mallorca in the nearby Platgeta de Portals Vells, I’m talking about Cala Tomeu. A beautiful discovery, hidden from the crowd, Cala Tome is a beach to relax and unwind, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. The water is very clear. It is worth arriving early because the parking lot (the same as the Plageta de Portals Vells fills up quickly.

🇮🇹 E' una spiaggia nascosta di Maiorca nella vicinissima Platgeta de Portals Vells, sto parlandi di Cala Tomeu. Una bellissima scoperta, nascosta dalla folla, Cala Tome è una spiaggia per rilassarsi e distendersi, circondata da una splendida bellezza naturale. L'acqua è limpidissima. Vale la pena arrivare presto perché il parcheggio (lo stesso della Plageta de Portals Vells si riempie velocemente.

It can only be a magical beach: Oh, Playa del Mago. Frequented by tourists from all over the world, chosen as international film set. It is a rather small cove, bathed by crystal clear water and surrounded by dense Mediterranean vegetation. The view, when you come to the rock overlooking the beach at the end of the road, is really impressive. You have the impression of having a postcard in front of you! What few people know is that Playa del Mago is historically a nudist beach. Of course, you can stay on the beach even in costume, no one forbids you. The origin of the name "Playa del Mago" is to be attributed to a film that was shot in this part in 1968 entitled "Gioco perverso" in Italy. Parking is free and, "on the map", next to the beach access. Let’s say "on paper" because, in the middle of summer, you will have to park a little where it happens along the road... but beware of fines!

🇮🇹 Non può che essere una spiaggia magica: Oh, Playa del Mago. Frequentata da turisti provenienti da tutto il mondo, scelta come set di film internazionale. E' una caletta piuttosto piccola, bagnata da acqua cristallina e circondata da una folta vegetazione mediterranea. Il colpo d’occhio, quando si giunge sulla roccia che domina la spiaggia, alla fine della strada, è davvero impressionante. Si ha l’impressione di avere di fronte una cartolina! Quello che in pochi sanno è che Playa del Mago è storicamente una spiaggia nudista. Naturalmente, si può stare in spiaggia anche in costume, nessuno te lo vieta. L'origine del nome “Playa del Mago” è da attribuire appunto ad un film che venne girato proprio da queste parti nel 1968 intitolato "Gioco perverso" in Italia. Il parcheggio è gratuito e, “sulla carta”, di fianco all’accesso alla spiaggia. Diciamo “sulla carta” perché, in piena estate, dovrai parcheggiare un po’ dove capita lungo la strada…ma occhio alle multe!

These caves were largely dug into the ground because they were used as quarries. Inside, there is a chapel. In the Middle Ages, workers dug three huge holes, similar to gates, in the rock. The interior sandstone was transported to Palma for the construction of the cathedral and palaces by rich merchant families. The cave has some interesting sculptures and a legend about Genoese fishermen who were looking for shelter from a storm. What is known is that they hide traces of the passage of the Knights Templar. It can be reached on foot from the nearby cove of Portals Vells. It is called Ses coves de Mare de Déu" (The caves of the Blessed Mother).

🇮🇹 Queste grotte sono state in gran parte scavate nel terreno perché venivano utilizzate come cave. All'interno, c'è una cappella. Nel Medioevo gli operai hanno scavato tre enormi buchi, simili a cancelli, nella roccia. L'arenaria dell'interno è stata trasportata a Palma per la costruzione della cattedrale e per i palazzi da parte di ricche famiglie di mercanti. La grotta presenta alcune interessanti sculture e una leggenda sui pescatori genovesi che cercavano riparo da una tempesta. Quel che si sa è che nascondono tracce del passaggio dei cavalieri Templari. Si raggiunge a piedi dalla vicina caletta di Portals Vells. Si chiama Ses coves de Mare de Déu" (Le grotte della Beata Madre).
