The stay with Melania and Gustavo was incredible. They are an Argentine couple who moved to Mallorca several years ago. They are very kind and friendly. I felt like I was at home. They recommended me so many places to visit and where to eat. The room is super comfortable. Despite the shared spaces, and the bathroom outside the room you had your own privacy. I had everything I needed and more: beach kit with umbrella and towels, breakfast, bath kit, and much more. Also keeping me company was the turtle, beautiful.

🇮🇹 Il soggiorno con Melania e Gustavo è stato incredibile. Sono un coppia argentina che si sono trasferiti a Maiorca diversi anni fà. Sono gentilissimi e cordiali. Mi sono sentito come a casa. Mi hanno consigliato tanti luoghi da visitare e dove mangiare. La camera è super confortevole. Nonostante gli spazi condivisi, e il bagno esterno alla camera si aveva la propria privacy. Avevo tutto il necessario e molto altro ancora: kit da spiaggia con ombrellone e asciugamani, colazione, kit da bagno e tanto altro. A farmi compagnia anche la tartaruga, bellissima.

Hostal Doris is the perfect home away from home, which says it all. With a family atmosphere and personalized service from the owners, we had a great time. It is very conveniently located for getting from one part of the island to another (if you have a car). Parking is easily found and the location is ideal for families, a lively and bustling place.

🇮🇹 L'Hostal Doris è la casa perfetta lontano da casa, il che dice tutto. Con un'atmosfera familiare e un servizio personalizzato da parte dei proprietari, ci siamo trovati benissimo. Si trova in una posizione molto comoda per spostarsi da una parte all'altra dell'isola (se si ha la macchina). Si trova facilmente parcheggio e la località è ideale per famiglie, un posto vivace ed animato.

Pollença is definitely one of the most beautiful pueblos to see in Mallorca. A medieval village with a thousand-year history, surrounded by beautiful beaches and stunning nature. A walk through this medieval pueblo, made up of stone houses, narrow alleys and long stairways, will allow you to immerse yourself in the real Mallorca. I parked in a free paved parking lot “Parking Carrer de Cecili Metel” just a step away from the old town.

🇮🇹 Pollença è sicuramente uno dei pueblos più belli da vedere a Maiorca. Un borgo medievale con una storia millenaria, circondato da bellissime spiagge ed una natura meravigliosa. Una passeggiata in questo pueblo medievale, fatto di case di pietra, stretti vicoli e lunghe scalinate, ti permetterà di immergerti nella vera Maiorca. Ho parcheggiato in un parcheggio gratuito asfaltato "Parking Carrer de Cecili Metel" ad un passo dal centro storico.

A long staircase, of 365 steps, leading to a small church that offers spectacular views of the town center and Pollença Bay. Climbing the Calvari is always a thrill. During the walk I was able to admire the beautiful stone houses adorned with flowers, and then there were also warm kittens. There is history and tradition: all Majorcans have walked the stairs of the Calvari at least once in their lives. Event during Majorcan Easter: the Davallament in which the statue of Christ is paraded down the steps to the church. It all takes place at night (lit only by torches).

🇮🇹 Una lunga scalinata, di 365 scalini, che porta ad una piccola chiesetta che offre una vista spettacolare sul centro cittadino e sulla baia di Pollença. Salire il Calvari è sempre un’emozione. Durante la passeggiata ho potuto ammirare le bellissime case in pietra addobbate di fiori e poi c'erano anche dei calorosi gattini. C'è storia e tradizione: tutti i maiorchini hanno percorso le scale del Calvari almeno una volta nella vita. Evento durante la Pasqua Maiorchina: il Davallament in cui la statua di Cristo viene fatta sfilare lungo la scalinata fino alla chiesa. Il tutto si svolge di notte (illuminati solo da fiaccole).

This is Pollença's new square, where the main church, Iglesia de la Mare de Déu dels Àngels, is located, dotted with bars and small restaurants that are always busy. Plaza Mayor is always lively and many children play Soccer here too, how wonderful.

🇮🇹 E' la piazza nuova di Pollença, dove si trova la chiesa principale, Iglesia de la Mare de Déu dels Àngels, costellata di bar e ristorantini sempre frequentati. Plaza Mayor è sempre vivace e anche quì tanti bambini giocano a Calcio, che meraviglia.

THIS SQUARE HAS HOSTED GREAT EVENTS AND HOSTS THE SYMBOL OF POLLENCA: THE COCK INCLUDED IN ITS SHIELD.

In ancient times, this square was the home that served for a long time to store and distribute the money and grain that the University (ancestor of the present municipalities) offered to the poorest of the country.

As for the fountain that adorns the Plaza de la Almoina, it was built in 1827 as part of the city’s first public fountain complex. The rooster at the top of the fountain has been the symbol of Pollença since the Middle Ages.

QUESTA PIAZZA HA OSPITATO GRANDI EVENTI ED OSPITA IL SIMBOLO DI POLLENCA: IL GALLO INCLUSO NEL SUO SCUDO.

Anticamente in questa piazza si trovava la casa che servì per lungo tempo a immagazzinare e distribuire il denaro e il grano che l'Università (antenata degli attuali municipi) offriva ai più poveri del paese.

Quanto alla fontana che adorna la Plaza de la Almoina, fu costruita nel 1827 come parte del primo complesso di fontane pubbliche della città. Il gallo situato in cima alla fontana è il simbolo di Pollença fin dal Medioevo.

After you have made a strenuous climb you are treated to a stunning landscape where you can enjoy panoramic views of terracotta rooftops, the Tramuntana Mountains, all the way to the sea flashing on the horizon and the Formentor Peninsula. At the Mirador del Calvari I have been at sunset and I must say it was inspiring and relaxing.

🇮🇹 Dopo che avete fatto una salita faticosa ti aspetta un paesaggio stupendo dove potrai godere di viste panoramiche sui tetti in terracotta, sulle montagne Tramuntana, fino al mare che lampeggia all'orizzonte e alla penisola di Formentor. Al Mirador del Calvari sono stato al tramonto e devo dire che è stato stimolante e rilassante.

This viewpoint is actually on the way to the Cap de Formentor lighthouse. At sunset we went to Mirador es Colomer, the most famous spot from which to admire it. I have because it has become a tourist attraction. It is really incredible. There is a parking lot where you leave your car and then you walk 5 minutes to reach the viewing terrace. I have been there 3 times and it is always exciting. I recommend arriving at least 1h before sunset.

Important info: it is ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN to arrive by car to the Formentor Lighthouse, every day, from 10 am until 10:30 pm.

🇮🇹 Questo punto panoramico si trova in realtà sulla strada per il faro di Cap de Formentor. Al tramonto siamo stati al Mirador es Colomer, il punto più famoso dal quale ammirarlo. Ho perché è diventata un'attrazione turistica. È davvero incredibile. C’è un parcheggio dove lasciare l’auto e poi si cammina 5 minuti per raggiungere la terrazza panoramica. Ci sono stato 3 volte ed è sempre emozionante. Consiglio di arrivare almeno 1h prima del tramonto.

Info importante: è ASSOLUTAMENTE VIETATO arrivare in auto al faro di Formentor, tutti i giorni, dalle ore 10 fino alle ore 22:30.

It is a charming restaurant in Port de Pollencaoto for its delicious Majorcan cuisine and local wines. The atmosphere is cozy and this place is family-run. The Paella with squid ink was something ti epic, very good. Then crostini with Pan e Oilm very good.

🇮🇹 E' un affascinante ristorante di Port de Pollencaoto per la sua deliziosa cucina maiorchina e i suoi vini locali. L'atmosfera è accogliente e questo locale è a conduzione familiare. la Paella al nero di seppia è qualcosa ti epico, buonissima. Non mancano i crostini con Pan e Oil.

An inconspicuous little restaurant in an alley in the old town. But behind it all lies the best and most delicious food I have been able to enjoy in Mallorca (above average price level). La Fonda de l'Aigua in Pollenca offers a unique dining experience with delicious Majorcan cuisine in a charming and welcoming atmosphere. I chose the “eggplant and ricotta cappelletti” with walnuts and asparagus in oil accompanied by a glass of Can Axartell and then “iberico moment” that is pork and Iberian pen accompanied by sweet potato puree and peppers.

🇮🇹 Un ristorantino poco appariscente in un vicolo del centro storico. Ma dietro a tutto questo si nasconde il cibo migliore e più squisito che ho potuto gustare a Maiorca (livello prezzi sopra la media). La Fonda de l'Aigua a Pollenca offre un'esperienza culinaria unica con una deliziosa cucina maiorchina in un'atmosfera affasciante e accogliente. Ho scelto i "cappelletti di melanzane e ricotta" con noci e asparagi in olio accompagnata da un bicchiere di Can Axartell e poi "momento iberico" ovvero maiale e penna iberica accompagnati da purea di patate dolci e peperoni.

It is a cozy place known for its delicious crepes and refreshing milkshakes. I enjoyed the sweet Nutella and banana crepe, but there are plenty of choices including the savory and gluten-free crepe. Definitely the smoothies aren't bad either. Indoor and outdoor seating. Cheap, tasty and impressive! I will definitely return here the next time I visit Mallorca.

🇮🇹 E' un locale accogliente noto per le sue deliziose crepes e i suoi rinfrescanti frullati. Ho apprezzato la crepe dolce alla Nutella e banana, ma ci sono tantissime scelte anche la crepe salata e senza glutine. Sicuramente anche i frullati non sono male. Posti a sedere dentro e fuori. Economico, gustoso e suggestivo! Ritornerò sicuramente qui la prossima volta che visiterò Maiorca.
