How to get there, visa and Giordan Pass 🇮🇹 Come arrivare, visto e Giordan Pass

Once we know that Jordan is safe and that nothing bad will happen to you, let’s talk about practical aspects.

How do you get to Jordan?

Less than 4 hours flight from Italy.  If you don’t have a lot of funds, use Ryanair and with less than 100 Euros, if you book in time, you will go and come back without problems. I reached Amman the capital from Pisa to 14 euro round trip. Royal Jordanian, the flag carrier, does direct flights from Rome to Amman.

What does it take to enter Jordan?

To enter Jordan, it is mandatory to present a passport with a remaining validity of at least 6 months upon arrival in the country. 

If you arrive at Amman airport, you must also present your entry visa.. You can get it directly at the airport of arrival in Jordan by paying in local currency (Jordanian dinars - JOD).

If you arrive in Aqaba, being the latter located in a special economic zone (ASEZ), the visa is free and valid for 30 days. 

The visa normally costs 40 JOD (about 50€), but if you stay at least 4 days you should buy the Jordan Pass. 

The Jordan Pass is a ticket that includes both visa and free access to over 40 tourist sites in the country. You can see the list by clicking here. The cost of the pass varies depending on how many days you are in Petra:

Wonderer 70 JOD includes: 1-day visit to Petra, free admission to over 40 tourist sites, free download of brochures and the cost of a tourist visa;

Explorer 75 JOD includes: 2 consecutive days visit to Petra, free admission to over 40 tourist sites, free download of brochures and the cost of a tourist visa;

Expert 80 JOD includes: 3 consecutive days visit to Petra, free entry to over 40 tourist sites, free download of brochures and the cost of a tourist visa.

🇮🇹 Una volta assodato che la Giordania è sicura e che non ti succederà niente di male, parliamo di aspetti pratici.

Come si arriva in Giordania?

Con meno di 4 ore di volo dall’Italia. Se non hai tanti fondi, usa Ryanair e con meno di 100 Euro, se prenoti per tempo, andrai e tornerai senza problemi. Cosa serve per entrare in Giordania?

Per poter entrare in Giordania è obbligatorio  presentare il passaporto con validità residua di almeno 6 mesi al momento dell’arrivo nel Paese. 

Se arrivi all’aeroporto di Amman, devi presentare anche il visto d’ingresso.. È possibile ottenerlo direttamente all’aeroporto di arrivo in Giordania pagandolo in valuta locale (dinari giordani – JOD).
Se invece arrivi ad Aqaba, essendo quest’ultima posizionata in una zona economica speciale (ASEZ), il visto è gratuito ed è valido per 30 giorni. 
Il visto normalmente ha un costo di 40 JOD  (circa 50€), ma se resti almeno 4 giorni ti conviene acquistare il Jordan Pass.
