A little-known fact is that Betancuria was once the capital of the Canary Islands and this dates back as far as the 15th century. It was founded in 1404 and retains an old-fashioned charm, with its churches and palaces surrounded by the landscapes of the important rural park, its flowery nooks and romantic views. I must admit that it has a lovely charm. I strolled through its cobblestone streets and relaxed in the square next to the Iglesia de Santa María de Betancuria , the town's original church. This pueblos is perfect for a lunch stop. Also, you will find small craft stores to buy souvenirs. It is one of the few places on the island where you have to pay for parking.

🇮🇹 Un fatto poco noto è che Betancuria era un tempo la capitale delle Canarie e questo risale addirittura al XV secolo. E' stata fondata nel 1404 e conserva un fascino d’altri tempi, con le sue chiese e i suoi palazzi circondati dai paesaggi dell’importante parco rurale, i suo angoli fioriti e i suoi scorci romantici. Devo ammettere che ha un fascino adorabile. Ho passeggiato tra le sue strade acciottolate, mi sono rilassato nella piazza accanto alla Iglesia de Santa María de Betancuria , la chiesa originale della città. Questo pueblos è perfetto per una sosta pranzo. Inoltre, troverai piccoli negozi artigianali per acquistare souvenir. E' uno dei pochi posti sull'isola in cui è necessario pagare il parcheggio.
