We're talking about one of the most curious squares in Palma, namely Plaza del Ayuntamiento, since it houses the city hall building. There are many bars and restaurants, but long ago, the atmosphere was not so good. in fact, the terrible Inquisition was there.

On the door of the Ayuntamiento, you can see a lizard and a snail. Walking around the thousand-year-old olive tree you should be able to make out the face of an old lady.

Little curiosity: there is a bench called: Banco de Los Vagos or Banco del “If It Were Not.” The reason is peculiar because in the past (but also today) on that bench sat people who had nothing to do all day and so when they were asked by people why they did not go to work, they would answer, “if it were not that I have a bad back.”

🇮🇹 Stiamo parlando di una delle piazze più curiosi di Palma, ovvero Plaza del Ayuntamiento, dato che ospita il palazzo del municipio. Ci sono tanti bar e ristoranti, ma tanto tempo fà, l'atmosfera non era poi così bella. infatti si trovava la terribile Inquisizione.

Sulla porta dell'Ayuntamiento, puoi vedere una lucertola e una lumaca. Camminando attorno all'ulivo millenario dovresti poter scorgere la faccia di un'anziana signora.

Piccola curiosità: c'è una panchina chiamata: Banco de Los Vagos o Banco del "Se non fosse". Il motivo è particolare perché in passato (ma anche oggi) su quella panchina sedevano le persone che non avevano nulla da fare tutto il giorno e quindi quando venivano interpellati dalla gente sul perché non andavano a lavoro, loro rispondevano: "se non fosse che ho il mal di schiena".
