Historic Citadel and National Historic Site you can visit at the top of the hill in Halifax. Its strategic positioning as the highest point in this port town, is the reason the British settled here in 1749. Entry fees are modest but it's a great look into Nova Scotia's history. Come around noon and you'll see them shoot off a cannon, which once signaled to soldiers it was time for lunch.
