The Cabot Trail is Nova Scotia's most famous scenic drive that makes a 298-kilometre-long loop around the northern tip of Cape Breton Island. Most people start the loop in Margaree driving north through Cape Breton National Park (entrance fee required) finishing in Baddock. However you can go east to west for stunning views for the passanger! The road can be rough at times in the more remote sections and there is NO CELL PHONE SERVICE. There are lots of windy sections with steep grades, so come prepared. The drive is lengthy and takes people a full day if not two days to complete. We recommend breaking up the drive staying overnight in the national park and exploring. We spent 5 days total in Cape Breton and wish we had longer!
