The Blue Lagoon is currently closed because of an eruption in the area.

The Blue Lagoon is one of the most famous spots in Iceland. It is very close to Keflavík airport, so if you are only in Iceland for a short amount of time, this is something that you can definitely put on your list.

If you are in Iceland a little longer though, I would recommend going to some of the lesser known spa's. It is not that the Blue Lagoon is not nice, I personally just think there are nicer places to enjoy the warm water. It is very busy and very touristy here, so you might want to have a place that is a bit less crowded.

If you've always wanted to see the Blue Lagoon: go for it! If you just want to relax and enjoy life in a hot pool, maybe check out the other options around the island! :)

Disclaimer: There is a possibility another eruption will happen again in this area and maybe it will be closer to the Blue Lagoon this time. At the moment there is no way of saying if and when it will happen. But I just wanted to mention it. If you are someone that doesn't like to take risks on their holiday (like me) then you probably want to know about this before booking a ticket.
