Kaffi Ilmur is one of my favorite places to visit when in Akureyri. The house itself is nicely situated on the main street, in one of the oldest houses of Akureyri. In summer time you can even sit in the sun in their outside area and not far away is a fun area for kids to play as well.

They have great coffee, a big selection of teas and delicious cakes. And one thing I really like, is that they also offer small slices of cake. This seems a bit weird (especially for a cake lover like myself), but if you've ever had a slice of cake in Iceland, you know they like their slices massive. But at Kaffi Ilmur you can choose if you want your slice a normal size, or if you want a massive one.

They also offer meals and have a great selection of food for reasonable prices. No hamburgers (but you can get those anywhere else in Iceland).
