If you want to do a beautiful horse riding tour along one of Iceland's biggest rivers (and even cross small parts of it), this is the place to be! I had a lot of fun on my riding tour here.

On the 1,5 hour River Ride you will cross several rivers and stop at a beautiful waterfall. You will ride along Skjálfandafljót, one of Iceland's biggest rivers. The sound of the river is so impressive and the view is amazing.

Crossing "arms" of this river is one of the best parts. You really get to see how strong and surefooted the Icelandic horses are. And you of course also get to try the tölt, one of the special gates Icelandic horses have!

At Eyjardalsá, they also offer a longer tour (3-4 hours). You will ride to Godafoss, one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland and enjoy the view of the waterfall from horseback.

Just remember that Icelandic horses are a lot smaller than other horses, so very often there is a weight limit of 100kg / 220lbs.
