This is probably one of the only towns in the world where the red traffic lights are heart shaped.

The story behind these is that during the financial crash in 2008 (which hit Icelanders pretty hard), people needed some positivity. So these heart shaped traffic lights appeared and never left after that because everyone can always use a bit more love!
