I honestly could have spent hours wandering around Lake Wendouree, checking out the boat houses, visiting the Ballarat Botanical Garden, watching swans glide across the water and walking around its 6km perimeter. Make sure you visit the cute little colourful boat houses dotted around Lake Wendouree. Quite a few are located at the Ballarat Yacht Club off Wendouree Parade.

Some of the wooden platforms to the boat houses can be a bit worse for wear so just choose wisely based on safety and how well they are maintained. Please respect other people's property, only take photos and go without leaving a trace.
