This waterfall is one of the lesser known and visited waterfalls in Marysville but is equally as beautiful. The Taggerty River cascades down several boulders and fallen tree branches into a pool at the bottom which can be observed from the wooden lookout platform just in front of it. The 2km return leafy trail to Keppel Falls winds its way through lush rainforest with some obstacles over the path.
How to get there:
Located in Yarra Ranges National Park, access the walk to the waterfall from the trailhead at the car park on Lady Talbot Drive (unsealed). There are no facilities here. It's a 2 hour drive from Melbourne and a 20 minute drive from Marysville.
Elise's Tips:
The pool underneath the falls is a nice spot to dip your toes in or sun bake on the rocks but just be mindful of the strong currents and submerged rocks and branches.
The walk to the falls is quite uneven with a few fallen branches over the path, a bridge crossing and stairs to climb towards the end so I'd recommend wearing sturdy shoes.
