This is one of my favourite free camp grounds near Eildon, especially if you want to explore Rubicon Valley Historic Area while you're here. The Boys Campground sits along the Rubicon River (fall asleep to the sounds of the river) and close by to the historic hydro power station, with long drop toilets, fire pits, walking tracks, 4x4 tracks and fishing opportunities.

Just keep in mind that it can get busy during long weekends and holidays, so get there early to avoid disappointment (it's a first come first served scenario)! In summer, the neighbouring Kendalls Campground and Tin Hut Campgrounds are also open and are equally as good but they do close during the winter months in preparation for peak season.
