Burkes Lookout is a scenic spot in the Dandenong Ranges that offers breathtaking views Melbourne, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and hikers. The lookout is easily accessible from the car park at the junction of Osprey Rd/Ridge Road and then by taking the short 1km return Kyeema Track to the lookout. Alternatively you can also choose to hike up the steep Fire Track (Glasgow track) to the lookout if you're feeling adventurous.

Elise's Tips:

I actually hiked up here on New Year’s Eve one year, arrived super early before sunset and had a picnic with my friend while we waited for the fireworks. It got quite busy though and the fireworks are only tiny specs on the horizon but it did make for a memorable night... just bring a torch for the hike back down or arrange alternative transport. The night time views were priceless and without the New Years crowds it could be a cute or romantic spot at the end of date night (just bring a torch as there's no lighting)!
