These cascades tumble over huge granite boulders into a large pool below. It is best viewed from the bridge that crosses the river directly in front of the cascades (pictured here).The 500 metre return trail to the Taggerty Cascades is all downhill with approx. 104 steps to tackle as you follow alongside the river and wind your way through a lush rainforest setting.

How to get there:

Located in Yarra Ranges National Park, access the walk to the waterfall from the trailhead at the car park on Lady Talbot Drive (unsealed). There are no facilities here. It's a 2.5 hour drive from Melbourne and a 25 minute drive from Marysville.

Elise's Tips:

There is also the option to visit the Upper Taggerty Cascades on the other side of the road but I wouldn’t say they are as impressive as these.
