This is my most recent find in Victoria, in terms of waterfalls and I'm kicking myself I haven't visited this one sooner ... talk about a hidden gem, I seriously haven't seen this on social media anywhere (yet)! Brittania Creek Falls is fed by Brittania Creek and cascades down a huge but smooth rock face in two channels depending on flow (could potentially cover the whole rock face after heavy rain)! The short 200 metre return walk to the falls is mostly downhill along a gravel track and is lush with ferns, moss and the sounds of the creek trickling over rocks.
How to get there:
Brittania Creek Falls is accessible from the car park off Brittania Weir Track (also signposted Brittania Falls Track) along Brittania creek Road. Keep in mind the road down to the falls is quite rough so take it slow in a 2WD but a 4WD is probably preferred. The trailhead is marked by an orange signpost "Brittania Creek Falls" so you can't miss it!
Elise's Tips:
There is a small area and shallow pool at the base of the falls where you could dip your toes in or sit in if the flow was reliable or if you just wanted to brave the cold but please be careful around the top and bottom of the falls to avoid being swept off the waterfall. I'm not sure what the flow would look like in the summer months but we visited in early winter and the waterfall was flowing quite nicely.
