The CBT-1 Guesthouse in Sary Mogul is the ideal base for exploring the stunning Alay Mountains. The original guesthouse/hostel is still in the old house which has big dorm rooms, but they have also built a new “hotel” of sorts which have private ensuite rooms.

The family who run the place are lovely, but they're usually very busy in high season, so ensure you book ahead. They offer breakfast included, and can cook dinner for those who want to eat there (you won't find another restaurant open in the village).

The place is always buzzing with other travellers, with most people stopping in, even if it's to ask for some information. They offer plenty of parking for those who are driving their own vehicle or bikes.

As the main CBT guesthouse in Sary Mogul, they can provide plenty of information on treks in the region and also help book horse rides or yurt camps. They can also drive you to trailheads or Tulpar Lakes for a reasonable price, which you can share with other travellers too.
