The walnut forest of Arslanbob is the largest in the world and has made the valley famous. It's easy to explore the forest on foot, especially as you follow the path up from the small waterfall and into the forest that surrounds the village.

It’s a beautiful place to relax in the shade, and admire the trees, some of which are estimated to be around 1,000 years old.

In autumn, the walnut picking season is in full swing, and you’ll likely see many locals collecting walnuts in the forest. I was there just at the beginning of the harvest, so I only saw a few men collecting walnuts, but October is usually when the most activity is going on.
