As one of the original CBT (community tourism) guesthouses, Ibrahim has been welcoming travellers to his family home for many years. I truly am so grateful I found it on Google Maps, because it was really a highlight of my time in southern Kyrgyzstan.
Ibrahim is a former school teacher, so he speaks fluent English and German, and is an absolute wealth of knowledge about the area. He recommended some great day hikes and points of interest to find around the valley. Plus, he organises horse treks for further afield in the summer months.
His guesthouse has a couple of older rooms in his home, but also has a new separate guesthouse building with single and double rooms with a shared bathroom. The view from this building across the mountains is incredible and a real benefit to staying here.
From the beautiful garden to the sunset views, it's such a wholesome place to stay. Plus, his wife cooks delicious food from local produce too.
His property is just a short walk from the small waterfall and the famous walnut groves. But it's an uphill walk from the marshrutka stop in the middle of the village, so you might want to ask him for a lift.
