This is one of the most unique landscapes on the island, completely different from the rest of Madeira. Flat, open, and often covered in moving fog.

You can park and just wander, there are multiple small trails and viewpoints rather than one fixed path. It is perfect if you want something flexible without a strict route.

Best on a clear day for wide views, or in fog for a more moody, surreal experience.
