What to pack for your trip to the Yukon in the winter!
Yukon winters can be cooolllldddd, especially for people who aren't used to northern weather. Here are a few tips on what to pack before your trip!
Make sure you bring lots of layers! This is extremely important for staying warm and allowing you to adapt to the potential changes in weather! I would recommend a base layer top and bottom (merino is best, but you can do whatever is in your price range!), as well as some warm pants and a fleece sweater. For town days, jeans are a great option as you can layer your base layers underneath as well! You will also want to bring some wool socks, they're breathable and will keep your feet warm while out in freezing weather (even if they get wet!)
If you are planning on watching the Northern Lights, you may want to pack some heavier gear! Good snow boots, a winter jacket and snow pants are essential!
A hat, gloves, and a face covering are also super important for a winter trip to the Yukon. We get A LOT of wind, and it's very easy to get frostbite on exposed areas on your face or hands!
