Watch Over the Coast

This is Moraira’s classic hike: short, scenic and incredibly rewarding. Starting right behind Playa El Portet, the trail winds upward through rocky paths and fragrant Mediterranean shrubs toward the historic Torre Vigía de Cap d’Or, an old watchtower that once guarded the coastline from pirates.

It’s a 1-hour climb that delivers stunning views in every direction, from the turquoise waters of El Portet to the Moraira marina and even all the way to the Peñón de Ifach in Calpe on a clear day.

Standing up there, with the sea breeze in your hair and the sun dipping low on the horizon, you’ll understand why locals never get tired of this view.

Local tip: Go early in the morning or just before sunset for the best light and fewer crowds. Wear sturdy shoes, the path is rocky and can get slippery, especially after rain. 🌅👟
