Helsinki in 1 day

Start the day at the Central Train Station and take a moment to admire Finland's most famous art nouveau building. If you are not planning on traveling by train during your trip, it's worth taking a quick peak inside.

Visit the very modern Oodi library. Helsinki's architectural icon and cultural hub that cannot be missed.

If you feel like shopping, pay a visit to Helsinki's biggest department store. For great outdoor gear head over to the XXL Sport & Outdoor store.

Time for lunch or just a coffee break? Here are two great options!

Although you have already visited the modern Oodi library by now, it's time to visit another library; the very classic National Library. A true gem!

Next door you will see Finland's most iconic landmark, the white Cathedral on the large Senate Square.

If you stick to this program you will have to opt for a late dinner, so go to the Old Market Hall for some afternoon snacks.

Cross the South Harbour and Central Market square and walk up to this beautiful Cathedral. After dark it's beautiful, but if you want to go inside it's better to go around lunch time, as they close the doors very early.

While you are there, you might fancy a ride on the ferry wheel?

Nothing more Finnish then hitting the sauna and taking a cold plunge. Visit the unique Allas Pool, that are open until 9pm.

After a lovely time in the sauna and waters, head over to the most beautiful restaurant in Helsinki. A historic gem and my personal favorite!
