This unique carving was added during restoration work in 1991, possibly inspired by the popular Alien franchise. Despite its otherworldly appearance, the gargoyle still serves its traditional purpose of warding off evil spirits from the abbey. Visitors can spot this extraterrestrial addition on the southwestern side of the building and have some fun searching for it among the other stone creatures.
