Aveiro is a colorful city in the central region of Portugal, known as the "Portuguese Venice", due to its canals and hand-painted boats, known as "moliceiros". The interesting thing about the Aveiro canals is that the watter does not flow into the ocean as common sense would predict. Instead, the Atlantic Ocean invades the continent and forms the so-called "rias".

All year long, moliceiro rides are available for locals and tourists to visit the city from a different perspective.

By the way, while in Aveiro, don't forget to try the ovos moles ("soft eggs") pastry, created by a nun over 500 years ago, a true Aveiro tradition. With raw material similar to a host (sacramental bread) due to the conventual influence, its formats "homage" the fishing tradition of this region of the country, including the shapes of fish, whelks and shells.
