A beach just outside Augusta, popular with locals and known for its floating pontoon you can swim out to and jump from.

What to expect

• Wide stretch of sand

• Floating pontoon to dive off

• Can be exposed to wind and rougher conditions

• Open, less sheltered feel

Is it worth it?

Worth a look if you’re already in Augusta, but not somewhere to go out of your way for.

On calmer days it’s probably a much nicer spot, but if it’s windy or rough, it’s not the most enjoyable place to relax. A decent local beach — just not a standout compared to others in the region. We actually couldn't stay for very long because the wind was so brutal.
