Kings Canyon is a hiker's heaven located in Australia's Red Centre in the Northern Territory. Watarrka National Park, home to Kings Canyon, covers 710sq km (274sq mi), and has been inhabited by the Luritja and Arrente peoples for over 20,000 years. Visitors can explore breathtaking ancient sandstone walls, hike around the cliffs of the canyon, and take scenic flights to admire it from above. The best time to visit Kings Canyon is between April and September when temperatures are cooler and more pleasant for hiking. Even during summer, visitors can enjoy Kings Canyon while protecting themselves with sun protection and netted hats.
