Gletschermühlen, Alp Mora is an incredibly beautiful trail located near the town of Trin in Graubünden, Switzerland. It is a challenging route usually taking about 7 hours to finish. The trail is perfect for both hiking and mountain biking, with so much wildlife along the way, it's nearly impossible to not spot creatures. The destination, Gletschermühlen (glacial mills) is a high altitude natural spectacle that hikers are able to take advantage of and even swim in, for those that have the energy after the hike.
There are roughly 20 glacial mills that are filled with cold crystal clear water once the snow melted at higher elevations.
HIKE DETAILS:
Start at Bargis bus station and end at Trin. The hike was 19 km long with 9mm meters of elevation gain. It took me approximately 6 hours to complete the hike.
The glacial mills are situated at elevation 2100 meter and you need courage to jump into them as they are freezing cold. But on a hot day it is very refreshing.
TIP: bring enough water and snack as there is no water fountain or restaurant on the way.
