Located in the popular destination of Realp, Switzerland is the SAC Albert-Heim Hut. (2543 meter)

Named after Albert Heim, the Alpine explorer, geologist, glaciologist and member of the Swiss Alpine Club. The beautiful view from the terrace extends to the Tiefengletscher (glacier) and Galenstock. It takes around 90 minutes to walk up the 440-meter height difference from Tiefenbach to the hut.

HIKE DETAILS:

Start at Tiefenbach it takes 1,5 hours to reach the hut. The hike has 430 meters of elevation gain. It is an easy hike but the views are so stunning with the glaciers and the shard peaks around.

TIP: If you are feeling adventurous from the hut you can hike for another 20 mins to nearby Schafberg at 2590 meters.

TIP2: you can actually hike down closer to the Tiefen glacier behind the hut. There is a lake as well that the glacier feeds.
