I've included this as a wonderful place to see an incredible frozen waterfall in winter. Depending on the weather and snow conditions, you might need to use snow shoes for this short walk. There is a rental place right next to the parking-best to confirm the hours to ensure they are open. However, if the snow is packed you should be able to access in snow boots. This is a great activity to do when it hasn't been snowing for a few days and you want a break from the mediocre ski conditions.

Zengoro Falls, located in the Norikura Highlands of Nagano, Japan, is a charming waterfall named after a local lumberjack who had a wild encounter with a fish.
