Road Trip Ring Road + West Fjords + Snæfellsnes
14 días

What you'll do

This 14 day, 13 night itinerary will give you the ultimate road trip experience in Iceland. You will have plenty of time to travel around the ring road, West Fjords, and the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Your adventure heart will be full, so bring lots of energy and an open mind on this trip! As you travel around the country, your accommodation will match the area you are exploring. Your trip will start and end in the capital, Reykjavik. Though there are a few unpaved roads, a 4x4 isn’t necessary May - Mid Sept. I suggest Blue Car Rental, you can pick it up and drop it off right at the airport.

Best Season: April - October

Highlights: Waterfalls, Sky Lagoon, Blue Lagoon, Glacier Hike, Black Sand Diamond Beaches, and so much more

Day 1

Today you will arrive in Iceland and you will get acquainted by relaxing in the Sky Lagoon If you are short on time, head straight to the city for the Reykjavik food walk.

Blue Car Rental

Most Reliable Car Rental

This Car Rental is my most trusted rental company in Iceland. They are a family run business with great cars, great prices, awesome service and they're right at the airport so there is no hassle when checking in or out. There is also a location in Reykjavik if for some reason you are not arriving through Keflavik Airport. The link below has a 5% discount applied to it. No code needed :)

A rental car shuttle bus comes to the arrivals door every 15-20 minutes and this Car Rental is the second stop. It's only a 3 minute walk but I'm sure you won't want to walk with all your luggage.

If you're coming in the summertime and plan to go into the highlands or drive on the mountain roads (F-roads) you MUST have a 4x4. If you plan to just stay around the ring road then a regular 2x2 car is all you'll need.

If you're coming in the winter time you might feel more comfortable in a 4x4 but Iceland does a very good job of clearing and salting the roads so you will also be okay in a regular car. It is all your personal preference.

All cars come equipped with winter tires from the months of Oct-April so you'll be just fine. That means there are little spikes in the tires to help you grip the road better if it is icey. They are a lifesaver!

Sky Lagoon

Primavera calurosa

Hot Infinity Lagoon

This brand new lagoon in Reykjavik is located on the ocean so the views are absolutely incredible. There is also a 7 step relaxation rituatial which I think you will be very into! It's definitely worth the plurge! This is one of the coolest spas in Iceland at the moment, we love it so much we got a pass for it.

Swim up bar and towels are included!

The Reykjavik Food Walk

Local and traditional cuisines of Iceland

If you're anything like me, you probably thought Iceland has no good food. This couldn't be further from the truth. I have never had better food than when dining in Iceland.

Just trust me on this one. Iceland turned me into a foodie, this is going to be a highlight of your trip I promise!

You'll get a small tour of Reykjavik and get personal stories from a local guide. I love this tour so much and you will not leave hungry!

This is a perfect thing to do on your first day in Iceland. You get to try authentic Icelandic cuisine from different restaurants in Iceland. Everything is taken care of for you, all you have to do is show up.

Be sure to come with an empty stomach :)

Make sure to book your tour ahead of time because it tends it sell out, it's THAT good!
