Hvítserkur, also known as the Troll of Northwest Iceland, is an unique rock formation that stands tall from Húnaflói Bay. It takes its name from Icelandic folklore which tells of a troll who was determined to take down bells from a nearby convent and was petrified in sunlight. Photographers are often drawn to this place because of its interesting reflection of the sun, moon, and aurora borealis. It's best to visit Hvítserkur on a self drive tour where you can spend time exploring nearby sites such as the Icelandic Seal Centre, Sigríðarstaðir beach, and Súluvellir farm. There are also many interesting tours and attractions available for all kinds of travellers, making it a great destination for anyone looking to get away and explore.

From road 1, it is necessary to drive 25 km to get to Hvítserkur. The car park is located 200m from the rock.
