Meandering Wild

A holiday home close to the ferry from Yell.

Mossbank is a village in the north east of the Mainland of Shetland, Scotland. It used to have a ferry service from Lerwick, but now people hop on the Yell Sound ferry from Toft instead. The village got a major makeover in the 1980s when they built the Sullom Voe oil terminal nearby. With just one primary school, a pub called The Welcome Inn, a Post Office, and a local hall, Mossbank keeps it simple. Plus, there's a memorial at the entrance honoring the fishermen lost in the "Delting Disaster" back in 1900.
