Located in Kingston, around 35 minutes from Queenstown, this was one of our favorite campsite spots on the South Island. Set along the shores of Lake Wakatipu, it’s a great place to free camp and fully soak in the peaceful alpine surroundings.

There are toilet facilities available, and we were able to park our campervan comfortably with plenty of spots to choose from. It’s a must to swim in the refreshing lake water,  the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring.
