First, head west on Highway 27 from San Jose. Take the Atenas exit and head up the mountain. You will pass through Atenas and then connect to Highway 3. Minas del Aguacate has multiple natural waterslides that lead into crystal clear pools of water.
Cataratas Las Minas del Aguacate is a hidden gem located on a small side road of the main road between Atenas and San Mateo / Orotina in Costa Rica. This location offers travellers a free and fun experience. Here people can experience a paradisical white sand beach, snorkel and palm beach just a couple of kilometres north of Jacó, watch crocodiles at the nearby river Tárcoles or enjoy the urban vibe of the Mirador de Jaco viewpoint. Once arriving at the car park, the first waterfall is just 50m away from the road, allowing visitors to take in the refresgning and crystal clear waters, with plenty of natural pools and slides available for the adventurous.
