Nestled in the Allgäuer High Alps, this stunning mountain lake is arguably one of the most beautiful in the Bavarian Alps. The hike (around 1200 meters of altitude) to reach it is challenging and should not be underestimated, but the breathtaking views make every step worthwhile.

A distinctive feature of the lake is its small island, which adds a unique charm and photogenic appeal. There are two main photo spots to consider: one at the foot of the lake, where the island appears impressively large, and a panoramic spot higher up on the slope, offering a wide view of the lake framed by the majestic mountain range behind it.
