The Ribeira do Faial da Terra Trailhead park is a starting point for an exciting 5.9-km hike PR11 SMI along the stream of Faial da Terra in São Miguel. With lush vegetation, wooden bridges, and a detour to the impressive Salto do Cagarrão and Salto do Prego waterfalls, this trail offers a medium-level challenge and takes about 2 hours to complete one way. Don't forget to explore the abandoned watermill and enjoy the picturesque village at the end of the route. It's a great way to immerse yourself in nature and discover the beauty of the Azores!

Before setting off on your hike, be sure to check the weather and cloud conditions via the local webcam. For more details about the trail, visit the official Visit Azores website. You can download the GPS track here (I use the Wikiloc app to open and navigate GPX files) and explore a detailed brochure with a hiking map here.
