This garden on the Schynige Platte mountain showcases around 800 species of plants native to the region.
It's a short walk from the Schynige Platte train station and restaurant. The path through the gardens takes about 30 mins, wandering on dirt paths and stairs along the mountainside. It does not cost extra to visit.
We usually pass through the garden briefly as we head up to the ridge trail above. If you aren't hiking, the alpine garden is nice way to enjoy the nature and views in this area.
When to visit: The best blooms are typically in mid July to early August.
How to get there: Ride mountain train from Wilderswil to Schynige Platte
