The Schilthornbahn cable car travels between the Mürren village and Schilthorn (last stop). It also stops at the Birg middle station, where you'll find the Thrill Walk.

Timetable

The Mürren-Schilthorn cable car runs 365 days a year. It runs about every 30 mins, starting around 8:30, last ride down in summer at 17:50. Check current schedule.

Tickets

You can purchase tickets on the SBB Mobile App, Schilthorn website, and at the cable car ticket offices at Stechelberg, Mürren and Grütschalp.

The price depends on where you start your journey - Mürren or in the valley at Stechelberg or Lauterbrunnen (via Grütschalp). Check current prices.

There are 999 tickets available per day, so they can hypothetically sell out. But usually you can buy ticket on the same day. You cannot reserve a specific timeslot.

Discounts

This cable car is discounted with Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Half Fare Card, Jungfrau Travel Pass, GA, and Eurail Pass.

As of 2025, this cable car is free with the Berner Oberland Pass, but that could change in future years.
