The Scaliger Castle of Sirmione is a breathtaking fortress located on the southernmost tip of Lake Garda in Italy. This majestic 13th century castle overlooks the peaceful waters and sits atop an ancient fourth century Roman spa complex. It dates back to medieval times, when it served as a stronghold of the noble scaligero family who ruled over Verona and a large part of the Venetian area for almost two centuries. Visitors can explore the well-preserved castle walls along with its inner courtyard, which contains an original 14th century port.
