Getting from the Airport to Rome

Leonardo Express (Fastest)

The easiest option from Fiumicino Airport.

✔ Direct train to Termini Station

✔ Around 30 minutes

✔ Runs regularly

Great if your hotel is near the centre.

Official Taxis

Rome has fixed fares from the airport to central Rome.

✔ Easy after long flights

✔ No need to negotiate if it’s an official taxi

Personal tip: Might be better is travelling with multiple people (3+)

Private Transfers

Best if you have lots of luggage or arrive late.

Simple, easy, and stress-free.

Getting Around the City

Honestly, you’ll walk most places.

Rome is best experienced slowly between sights.

Metro

Fast and useful for getting between, Vatican City, Colosseum

and Spanish Steps

Buses

Good for neighbourhoods like Trastevere, but can be slower with traffic.

Walking

This is the real way to explore Rome.

Many of the best moments happen between the main attractions.

If you only remember one thing:

Rome looks big on a map, but many main sights are walkable together. Plan by area, not by distance.
