Kongsberg Church, located in the Norwegian county of Viken, is one of the finest examples of a Baroque-style church. Built between 1740 and 1761, and designed by Joachim Andreas Stukenbrock, the exterior is simple but the interior is adorned with beautiful Rococo decorations. Many features of the church are made from wood, while pillars and surfaces are marbled to give the whole church a cool blue hue. Besides its majestic design, the church also houses an impressive organ from 1765 built by organ builder Gohtfried Heinrich Gloger, while its baptismal font was carved out of marble from Holmestrand in Vestfold. Truly spectacular and breathtaking in its beauty, Kongsberg Church is well worth visiting as a place of historical wonder.
