Mørkgonga Naturreservat is an exciting adventure destination situated between the Gyrihaugen and Steinsfjorden in Åsa. With beautiful forest landscapes as well as unique vegetation and animal species, this 1539 acre area offers something for everyone! Mørkgonga nature reserve was protected on December 7th, 2001 and boasts a multitude of marked pathways throughout the area. The hike starts from Elvikbråtan and leads up to the top of Gyrihaugen, which presents a stunning panoramic view. An adrenaline-packed activity during summertime is the adventurous descent through the dark gorges of Mørkgonga. Be sure to take all necessary safety precautions before beginning the descent as the steep rock walls are only facilitated with steel wires!
