Røros Church is a spectacular stone church in Røros municipality in Trøndelag county in Norway. Built in 1784 to God’s glory, as well as the beauty of the mining town, it was designed by Peter Leonard Neumann and boasts an octagonal shape and white washed stone walls. Inside, the handsome Peder Ellingsen pulpit and Johan Jørgen Lyng’s altarpiece are treasures of its era, and there is also a grand royal box. It has been extensively restored over time, including being equipped with electricity in 1908 and having its colors restored in 1959. Today Røros Church serves both as an active parish church as well as a venue for concerts, complete with a large Ryde & Bergs Opus 99 organ.
