Beach

Message from Johan Haugsrud

Orrestranda is a wonderful beach located in Jæren, southwestern Norway. Spanning 3 km (2 miles) in length, its pristine shoreline is a perfect site for leisurely strolls. To the south of the beach are grassy dunes which shelter various species of plants and animals, while the north side of the beach is bordered by the imposing North Sea. The beach is home to an abundance of mysterious Iron Age burial mounds, each offering an intriguing glimpse into 2000-year-old rituals. Orrestranda is an idyllic spot to appreciate nature, lounge in the sun on even in winter months to watch the spectacular northern lights reflected on the still water of the fjord below. A visit to Orrestranda Beach will be a memorable experience full of excitement and awe.
