Lygnstøylvatnet is a historic lake located in the Norangsdal Valley, Ørsta, Norway. It was formed by a rockfall from Keipen in 1908 and beneath the surface of the waters guests can still view remnants of the old road, farmhouses, and gateways. The valley holds an air of history with its famous cruises such as the “Silver cruise” in 1993 in honor of the Silver wedding of the King and Queen of Norway dubbing the valley “The Queen Route”. On top of this, the Hotel Union Øye located nearby has been a popular destination for Europe’s aristocracy and social elite since 1881. A visit to Lygnstøylvatnet is truly like taking a step back in time!
